Leeds United fans unite at Elland Road to honour Christopher Loftus and Kevin Speight | OneFootball

Elland Road came together on Saturday as Leeds United supporters honoured Christopher Loftus and Kevin Speight, who were murdered in Istanbul 26 years ago. The 0-0 draw against Brentford was secondary.

As reported by yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, fans travelled from Belfast, Norway and Malaysia for the club's final home match before the 5 April anniversary.

Before kick-off, chairman Paraag Marathe and managing director Robbie Evans laid wreaths at the memorial plaque outside the ground, followed by a minute's applause.

During the match, supporters turned their backs to the pitch, as they did 26 years ago and have done every year since.

The football mattered less than the tributes, with thousands uniting to remember Chris and Kev at Elland Road. A selection of photos captured the scenes throughout the night.
