Leeds United are pressing on with moves for a number 10, a midfielder and a back-up left-back, and could yet need a second-choice goalkeeper if Lucas Perri departs.

Torino have an option-to-buy loan ready. Progress has not been as advanced as suggested last week, and Perri remained in the US on Wednesday. A move is possible, perhaps probable, yet not certain. Leeds will not sanction an exit until a replacement arrives and await James Trafford’s signature.

Igor Paixao is not a live target at present. Leeds chased the left winger last summer before he chose Marseille. He is understood to be content in France while his camp assess the market, and Leeds have neither approached him this window nor plan to.

Largie Ramazani has wiped his Instagram account, often a hint of change. Omitted from the US tour and not in Daniel Farke’s plans, he is expected to move on. Links to John Stones were never serious, with his wages viewed as prohibitive as he looks set for Inter Milan.

Academy midfielder Ollie Pickles wore 66 against Wrexham, prompting fans to recall Pickles the dog who discovered the stolen Jules Rimet trophy in 1966. It is unclear if that was deliberate.

Former Leeds goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald, 36, is standing for election to Verden’s city and district council next month for the Christian Democratic Union. “So many people complain, but only a few actually participate in politics and take on responsibility. That's different for me!” he said, speaking to kreiszeitung.de.
