Leeds United chase a first pre-season win against Premier League rivals Sunderland at the Sports Illustrated Stadium in New Jersey tomorrow night.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke’s side lost 3-2 to Wrexham last weekend, with Joel Piroe and Sean Longstaff scoring for a much-changed team.

The group could look different, with World Cup breaks ending and new signings settling, but three injury concerns linger after Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed Wrexham.

There could be a first start for Harry Wilson, and Tarik Muharemovic may feature if he is deemed ready.

In goal, the 33-year-old Alex Cairns could start, depending on James Trafford’s move to Leeds and Lucas Perri’s subsequent Torino switch, with Rory Mahady also a possibility.

In defence, James Justin is likely to fill in at centre-back after useful minutes against Wrexham, while Joe Rodon, who played 90 minutes, could continue.

Teenage defender Alfie Cresswell may earn another pre-season start, with no need to risk Bornauw or Bijol. Jayden Bogle is pushing to start at right wing-back after a half-time introduction, and could slot into a back four if required.
