Leeds United are monitoring Lois Openda as they look to reinforce their attack after securing Premier League survival. The striker’s wages remain a significant hurdle.
Tutto Juve reports that the Belgium international could depart this summer after just one year, with the Turin club open to a flexible loan to trim their wage bill.
Openda joined Juventus from RB Leipzig in a deal worth £34.7 million. The move was made permanent this summer after a season-long loan. His first campaign fell short of expectations, and the club are prepared to cut their losses.
The Premier League is viewed as the most concrete option, with Leeds among the interested. Everton and Nottingham Forest are also tracking the 26-year-old, and Crystal Palace have already made initial contact.
There is interest in France too, with Lens, Monaco and Paris FC asking about his availability in recent weeks. Leeds considered a move in 2023 when he was at RC Lens and valued at £26.5 million, but he turned down a switch to LS11.
Palace are currently leading the chase under new manager Pierre Sage, who values Openda’s pace, tactical range and pressing. If Leeds can assemble the finances, landing him would be a significant statement.
