Leeds United are being linked with Sunderland left-back Dennis Cirkin, whose deal expires at the end of the season, according to Football Insider.
Daniel Farke is expected to seek extra depth at left-back this summer, with current options under review and value signings being explored.
Cirkin, 24, has been a key figure on Wearside, winning two promotions and helping the club return to the Premier League. His attacking intent and ability to carry from deep have long made him a reliable outlet on the left.
Leeds have also been linked with Matt Targett, who is expected to become a free agent, but Cirkin’s Championship experience and potential free status could keep him high on their list.
Sunderland head coach Régis Le Bris has spoken of uncertainty over Cirkin’s future, pointing to fierce competition at full-back and the need for alignment if a deal is to be struck. Cirkin has made nine appearances this season, with only one brief substitute outing since the FA Cup win at Oxford in February.
With the window nearing, interest in the defender may intensify. Sunderland visit Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday as Le Bris’ side look to respond to back-to-back defeats against Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.
