Leeds United’s Anton Stach marked his Germany return with a playful Michael Jackson themed Instagram post after featuring in a 4-3 win over Switzerland.

Recalled for March’s friendlies, the 27-year-old midfielder was named on the bench at St Jakob-Park in Basel on Friday and introduced in the 80th minute for his first cap since June 2022, with the score at 3-3. Four minutes later Florian Wirtz completed his brace to clinch the victory. The player said in a post that he was proud to play for his country and that 4-3 was a win, adding a lighthearted hee-hee.

Set to Billie Jean, his upload featured a photo overlaid with a microphone graphic and another with a trail of ducks.

Stach has become known for inventive social posts this season. His form since joining Leeds from TSG Hoffenheim last summer underpinned his recall to the national squad.
