West Ham could be boosted by Crysencio Summerville’s return for Friday’s visit of Wolves, with Nuno Espirito Santo signalling positives across a five-man fitness update for the seven-game run-in.

According to The Athletic, West Ham have submitted a complaint to FIFA over Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s late return after he played in a win against Jamaica on Tuesday and then joined an open-top bus parade in DR Congo with team-mates and president Felix Tshisekedi.

Nuno said several recent absentees, including Summerville, Jean-Clair Todibo and Callum Wilson, are improving and will be assessed on Thursday, adding there is optimism they could be available. He noted Dinos Mavropanos has cleared concussion protocols and Wan-Bissaka is back training. He added that a few players are recovering from Sunday’s extra-time FA Cup defeat, mainly through fatigue.

Summerville sustained a calf problem in March’s FA Cup fifth-round win at Brentford and missed a month, including last weekend’s quarter-final defeat to former club Leeds and two league games in which West Ham took one point and scored once. Before injury he had seven goals in 11 across all competitions.

Victory over rock-bottom Wolves would lift West Ham out of the relegation zone for a couple of days, with Tottenham set to drop in before their Sunday trip to Sunderland, and would take the Hammers within one point of Leeds. Daniel Farke’s side visit Manchester United on Monday, with the head coach monitoring Anton Stach and Joe Rodon after ankle injuries at West Ham.
