Leeds United have signed Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic, the latter a £34m record of the 49ers era and a replacement for Pascal Struijk after his £18m switch to Brighton & Hove Albion. According to Leeds Live, further reinforcements are targeted before the 1 September deadline, with sales likely.

Goalkeeper is the priority. Karl Darlow and Illan Meslier have departed, leaving Lucas Perri and reserve Alex Cairns, and while Torino like Perri, Leeds will not consider his exit until a replacement arrives. Zion Suzuki and James Trafford are admired, but there has been no progress.

In the number 10 role, Leeds remain keen on Julian Brandt and held talks at Thorp Arch this week with his agent and father, Jurgen, though he has also visited other clubs. Wilson can operate as a wide 10 but is not a natural central option.

There has been little noise on a striker while Joel Piroe remains in place, although he has reported for pre-season and is widely expected to leave before the deadline. Dominic Calvert-Lewin looks likely to stay first choice, and a back-up closer to his profile than Lukas Nmecha is sought.

A back-up left-back is wanted behind Gabriel Gudmundsson, with James Justin right-footed and Jack Harrison having struggled there. Midfield could also be refreshed, with Leeds pursuing Shea Charles and, given five senior options, one may be moved on, with Ilia Gruev in his final year, Ao Tanaka having considered a January exit and Sean Longstaff not starting a league game after November.
