RB Leipzig were left ruing fine margins after a narrow Bundesliga defeat at Stuttgart, with captain Willi Orbán and defender David Raum saying their best spells went unrewarded. According to BuLi News, both felt they deserved more.

Both sides fashioned chances and Leipzig had periods where they looked set to take control, yet the visitors could not convert. The match turned on a few moments, including the decisive mistake that led to Stuttgart’s winner.

“It was a tight game between two top teams,” Orbán said after the match. “It was fun to play, but it’s frustrating that we didn’t reward ourselves for our good moments today.”

Defender Raum echoed that view. “In top games, small details and sometimes a bit of luck decide things,” he said. “We had many good phases in the game, Stuttgart as well. Matches like this often end in a draw.”

“But without blaming the players who made the decisive mistake, today small details simply decided the game,” Raum added. “In the end we didn’t reward ourselves for our performance.”

Raum said he had not really thought about the Germany squad announcement, stressing his focus is on the run-in and staying fit, and that he would be happy if nominated.

Orbán, asked about his future, said he could not say much about his contract, that he loves playing football and enjoys playing in Leipzig. He added there is no pressure on the situation, with one and a half years left on his deal and decisions depending on many people.
