Letícia Almeida to join Porto after Benfica exit | OneFootball

According to Glorioso 1904, Letícia Almeida will join Porto’s women’s team next season after leaving Benfica at the end of her contract.

Porto’s interest came as the club invest in their women’s set-up following promotion to the top flight. The Portugal under-23 international is viewed as a major addition for the step up in competition.

From Benfica’s side, her departure forms part of routine end-of-contract squad reshaping, with several players reaching the end of their deals. Almeida was used as a rotational midfield option under Ivan Baptista.

This season she made 17 appearances for Benfica, seven in Liga BPI, four in the Champions League, two in the League Cup and four in the Portuguese Cup.

Across 747 minutes on the pitch, the 21-year-old did not register a goal or an assist.
