LFP extends Decathlon partnership to 2032, Kipsta to supply Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 balls | OneFootball

Decathlon’s Kipsta brand will keep supplying Ligue 1’s match ball to 2032 after the French retailer agreed a five-year extension.

The deal also covers Ligue 2, running through the 2031-2032 campaign. Decathlon has provided the leagues’ balls through Kipsta since 2022.

L'Équipe reports that the original contract was due to run until June 2027, and the renewal followed a winter consultation of equipment manufacturers before ratification by the league’s board on Wednesday.

LFP Média partnerships director Matthieu Maignal said Decathlon made the most attractive offer and that the league is satisfied with the collaboration. He added that Kipsta’s credibility has grown on this key product. Engineers canvass players, kit staff and coaches each year to improve the ball, and clubs’ feedback is positive.

When the new term starts in June 2027, Decathlon will move from official partner to major partner of the LFP.

The LFP is also banking on Ligue 1’s contact with international audiences through Decathlon’s network of 1,900 stores in more than 70 countries.
