Liverpool are considering a stunning January move for Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, according to The i Paper.

According to the report, the Reds are aware of a release clause in his current contract and are ready to take advantage to lure him to Anfield in January.

Liverpool have a long-standing interest in Semenyo and have already gotten a glimpse of his immense talent after kicking off the campaign with a 4-2 win against Bournemouth.

Semenyo bagged a brace to hand the Reds a huge scare, but a last-minute goal from club legend Mohamed Salah helped Arne Slot’s side slip away with all three points.

That win marked the start of a seven-match winning streak across all competitions, but Liverpool have fallen off the wagon over the past few games.

The Reds are now on a four-match losing streak across all competitions for the first time since Slot took over.

Semenyo, who has been described as an “incredible, unique talent“, is seen as a long-term replacement for Salah, who seems to have lost his magic touch this term.

The 25-year-old has been in outstanding form for the Cherries this season, bagging six goals and three assists in nine Premier League outings.

Only Manchester City goal machine Erling Braut Haaland (11) has scored more goals than the Ghanaian international winger so far this season.

Semenyo was one of many Bournemouth players linked with a big-money move away from Vitality Stadium over the summer.

The Cherries lost a remarkable £200 million worth of talent, but they managed to hang on to Semenyo and even tied the Ghanaian to a new five-year contract.

However, his electrifying start to the new season has once again brought his long-term future under the spotlight, with Liverpool considering whether to push the button on a winter bid.

Liverpool are wary of losing Salah during the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The Egyptian could miss up to eight games, including a crucial Premier League contest against Arsenal.

Semenyo will be available during that period, with Ghana failing to qualify for the competition.

Semenyo reportedly has a release clause in his contract, although the exact figure is kept under wraps.

Bournemouth valued him at £75m in the summer, but the clause is reportedly lower than that figure.
