The France international is weighing an exit from PSG this summer, after struggling for a prominent role last season. Barcola did not start a game from the quarter-finals onwards as PSG secured a second straightChampions League title.

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Liverpool lead the race for Barcola and have been active in their pursuit of the player since April.

The 23-year-old is open to the move and is giving preference to Liverpool, with Arsenal having pivoted towards Vinicius Junior, having previously monitored Barcola's situation.

Liverpool are awaiting Paris Saint-Germain's demands for a deal, with the French champions valuing Barcola highly. He has scored 37 goals in 105 games for PSG over the last two seasons as the Parisians have won a wealth of honours.

Liverpool are determined to bring in a versatile forward to combat the loss of Mohamed Salah and Hugo Ekitike. Salah departed Anfield by mutual consent this summer, while Ekitike is sidelined until 2027 with a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Though he has featured predominantly from the left in Paris, Barcola has operated right across a front three.
