Liverpool star set to return to squad but Slot admits Isak fitness concern | OneFootball

Arne Slot admits Alexander Isak felt tiredness in his body “more than maybe ever before” following his debut for Liverpool against Atletico Madrid.

Isak started and played just under an hour as the Reds beat Atletico 3-2 in the Champions League on Wednesday.

It was the first club football the Swedish striker had played this season and Slot admits he found it physically tough.

“I don’t think I tell the media the day before the game,” he said when asked if Isak will start against Everton on Saturday.

“We had recovery yesterday and we’re going to train this afternoon so first of all we have to see how they all feel.

“What I do know is that Alex did feel his body more than maybe ever before after the 60 minutes he played so let’s see how he recovered.”

Slot also confirmed midfielder Curtis Jones is set to come back into contention having missed the last two games through injury.
