Liverpool could soon get the green light on a €100m transfer. They're just waiting on the player.

Liverpool have some serious work to do ahead of next season. Their mass overhaul in 2025 was a failure, moving the team backwards.

That's now been exacerbated by some high-profile exits, including head coach Arne Slot. Liverpool are essentially back in rebuilding mode and once again looking to drop an awful lot of money.

Their principal target appears to be Yan Diomande. Reports suggest that Liverpool are now pushing hard to sign the player, with the Athletic among many claiming they'll make a big offer for the Ivorian.

RB Leipzig will want around €100m for their star asset, though. That's something journalist Ben Jacobs told GiveMeSport, suggesting the price will continue to rise.

Ultimately, though, he says Leipzig - and therefore buying clubs - are waiting on a decision from Diomande. This could all go away if he signs a new contract but he may also tell his club that he wants to move on.

It's that decision that will ultimately trigger a transfer. Leipzig and Liverpool are only going to have a deal if Diomande pushes for it, and now it's a waiting game to see what he decides.
