Lucas Digne’s impending arrival at PSG is set to trigger a defensive reshuffle, with Lucas Hernandez central and Lucas Beraldo in midfield. According to L'Équipe, a decisive week also looms for Maghnes Akliouche and Bradley Barcola, who could soon be team-mates unless the winger departs.

Digne’s difficult World Cup semi-final against Spain, when he conceded the penalty converted by Mikel Oyarzabal, has not altered PSG’s plan. The Aston Villa left-back is seen as the ideal deputy to Nuno Mendes, preferred now to a younger profile after his Premier League consistency, top-level experience and an estimated fee of around 10 million euros, plus his French-trained status for the Champions League.

This move is likely to reshape roles. Hernandez, used as cover for Mendes last season, is now viewed internally only as an option in the middle. While, like Gonçalo Ramos sold to AC Milan and Kang-In Lee expected at Atlético de Madrid, he could seek more minutes elsewhere, PSG are not currently considering a departure.

Beraldo has agreed to extend his contract to 2030 and should continue his development as a midfielder, with spring performances having encouraged the staff.

With the World Cup ending on Sunday, PSG expect to push several deals. Long followed, Akliouche is due in France early next week, with PSG and AS Monaco having moved closer, and his return should help finalise the move. Like Leipzig winger Yan Diomandé, another summer priority, he has agreed five-year terms.

Barcola’s situation remains hot. Back from the United States next week, the France international, contracted until 2028, will discuss his future with club chiefs, with extension talks paused during the World Cup. PSG value him at 150 million euros and are attentive to the market in case he leaves.
