Manchester United added plenty of flair and quality to their attack over the summer, and now they are reaping the reward.

United notched a third win on the bounce last week, beating Brighton & Hove Albion 4-2 at Old Trafford. The Seagulls struggled to tame the Red Devils’ attack from start to finish.

Matheus Cunha opened the scoring, Bryan Mbeumo bagged a brace and Benjamin Sesko got himself an assist.

Cunha, in particular, was the most dangerous player on the pitch. The Brazilian was very direct in attack and rattled Brighton’s net with a thunderous strike. 

Manchester United keen on Lucas Paqueta

Now, United are reported to be interested in his fellow countryman, Lucas Paqueta, who possesses a similar streetwise edge and ability to make a difference at any moment.

It has been widely reported in recent days that Paqueta is seeking a January exit from West Ham United.

The Hammers’ record-signing has been their most consistent performer since 2022, impressing in a variety of roles. However, the 28-year-old mainly thrives as an attacking midfielder.

The Brazil international is contracted to the Hammers until 2027, but he is now looking to leave the relegation-threatened outfit in January.

Man United approach West Ham for Paqueta

According to a report from a transfer insider relayed by Football365, United have initiated talks with West Ham to explore the possibility of signing their talisman. 

It is claimed United have “asked for more details” from West Ham, as they attempt to understand their conditions for a potential winter switch.

United are thought to be “very keen to make the deal in January at fair market valuation.” 

Aston Villa allegedly tried to sign Paqueta on loan with an obligation to buy last summer but the move fell through late in the window.
