Assistant coach Lucas Silvestre says Yuri Alberto’s involvement against Santos on Sunday depends on the club’s medical clearance. Corinthians lost 2-0 to Coritiba at Neo Química Arena on Wednesday night.

According to Meu Timao, Silvestre, who took charge on Wednesday, expects an update on Thursday after a meeting with the player and doctors.

He stressed the side have missed their number nine’s runs in behind, which help Breno and Garro, and added that Alberto’s age and quality make him coveted by European clubs.

In Alberto’s absence, the staff have turned to youngster Gui Negão, who impressed last season, with selections up front adjusted to the rhythm of each game.

They visit Santos at 16:00 on Sunday in the sixth round as they seek a response.
