Luciano Juba went off injured as Bahia drew 1-1 with Grêmio at the Casa de Apostas Arena Fonte Nova on Sunday in the 16th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

Globo.com reports that the left-back is on a preliminary national-team list for the World Cup, with the official squad to be announced on Monday by Carlo Ancelotti.

Rogério Ceni lost his left-back 14 minutes into the second half. Juba clutched the front of his left thigh and was replaced by Iago Borduchi.

After his withdrawal, Viery opened the scoring, before Sanabria levelled the match.

Juba is Bahia’s joint top scorer this year with eight goals alongside Willian José, and he also has three assists.
