Luis Castro has no doubts over 15-year-old Marc Santos at Levante | OneFootball

Levante’s 15-year-old left-back Marc Santos has been the revelation of pre-season and has earned a place with the first team. Head coach Luis Castro says he is part of the senior group, although he is not yet registered.

According to Superdeporte, Santos has featured in six friendlies under the Portuguese, totalling 154 minutes against Villarreal, Castellón, Leganés and Sheffield United.

Speaking before the meeting with Espanyol, Castro underlined that he regards Santos as a first-team player and that the youngster has earned that status.

Regarded as one of the brightest talents in Levante’s academy, Santos signed a new contract in January, with the length not disclosed.

Castro said he was already certain at the end of last season that Santos would step up after the teenager had occasionally trained with the squad, adding that the decision was shared by him and his staff.
