Before the arrival of Luis Enrique, PSG crumbled in the UEFA Champions League, and one of these meltdowns was highlighted as a top moment for an outgoing Real Madrid player.

Enrique has PSG in the Champions League final, where they’ll be facing Inter Milan next weekend. Last season, the Spanish coach guided the Parisians to a semifinal appearance in his first season, falling short of the final against Borussia Dortmund.

While these last two years have spoiled fans of the Ligue 1 side, it was never the case as the club have had meltdowns that have scared the supporters. One of them came against Real Madrid in 2022.

Luka Modric spoke about the Real Madrid comeback against PSG

On Saturday, Luka Modric played his last home game for Real Madrid as the veteran midfielder departs the Spanish club. Marca relayed his comments regarding the player’s best moment at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, which came at the expense of PSG.

“What moments or matches will you never forget?” he was asked.

“Wow… Just at the Bernabéu or in general?” Modric replied with a laugh. “At the Bernabéu… whew. There were so many incredible matches. I don’t know what to tell you. For me, that second-to-last Champions League run, with the comebacks against Paris, Chelsea, City…”

“If I have to pick just one, just one… it’s Paris Saint-Germain. Because I said: ‘If we win this match, we’re going to win the Champions League.’ And that’s exactly what happened. So if I have to choose one, even though it’s really hard, I choose that match.”
