Daizen Maeda had been off the boil for much of this season but he has come up trumps just when it mattered most for Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race.

Today, he has put them one step closer to reeling in Hearts with possibly the goal of both the season and his life against Rangers. 

The Gers had taken the lead at Parkhead through Mikey Moore after just nine minutes but Yang Hyun-Jun quickly levelled the score. 

That's how it stayed until half-time before Maeda took over the Glasgow derby clash. The Japanese forward headed home a Kieran Tierney cross to make it 2-1 to send the home end wild and then topped it with a truly incredible overhead kick.

The goals put Martin O'Neill's men in a commanding position and should they hold out, they will move to just a point behind the unlikely leaders, setting up a potential final day clash to rival any in recent memory.
