Magdeburg ‘showed interest’ in Benfica prospect Tomás Cruz as Denmark and Kazakhstan clubs monitor | OneFootball

Benfica B midfielder Tomás Cruz attracted overseas attention in the final days of the winter window, with clubs in Germany, Denmark and Kazakhstan tracking the 20-year-old Luxembourg international and team-mate of Leandro Barreiro.

Kicker reported that Magdeburg, from Germany’s second tier, registered interest as the deadline approached.

Meanwhile, Record wrote that leading sides in Denmark and Kazakhstan also sought information on a possible deal.

Valued at 450,000 euros, the creative midfielder joined Benfica in 2024 from Hannover 96. This season he has made 21 appearances for the B team, 17 in Liga Portugal 2 Meu Super and four in the Premier League International Cup, totalling 1,200 minutes without a goal or assist.

Benfica B, previously coached by Hélder Cristóvão, visit Portimonense on 9 February, Monday, at 18:00 in Portimão. The match is part of round 21 of Liga Portugal 2 Meu Super and they sit 12th on 26 points.
