Man City Esports secure Jafonso signature | OneFootball

Man City Esports is delighted to announce Joao ‘Jafonso’ Vasconcelos has joined the Club’s roster for 2025/26.

The Portuguese has made the move from Al Nassr, having also previously represented New England Revolution and Luna Esports.

The 21-year-old joined the pro scene in 2020, aged 16, competing in the eLiga Portugal.

He joins City as a prolific winner. He won the eLiga Portugal Supertaca in 2022/23, following by the 2024 eMLS Cup.

His biggest achievement to date saw him lift the 2024 Esports World Cup, an accolade he’ll be hoping to add to his honour list again with City.

“I can’t wait to start my journey with Man City Esports and I’m looking forward to achieving great things with Mati in the ePremier League,” said Joao.

“I want to thank Man City and everyone involved in bringing me to such an amazing club.

“I’m hungry to fight for everything whilst wearing the City jersey and I hope I can make the fans proud during my time with the Club.”
