Manchester City dropped points after a 1-1 draw against West Ham United in the Premier League.
This result has been quite encouraging for Real Madrid as City now turn their attention toward a much bigger challenge.
Pep Guardiola’s side will face Real Madrid on Tuesday, March 17, in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16, a game that swung in Los Blancos’ favour after the first leg
Meanwhile, after the domestic clash, Manchester City midfielder Rodri, a target for Real Madrid, spoke about the upcoming European showdown against Real Madrid.
One of the main concerns for City in recent matches has been their ability to convert chances.
The team has continued to dominate possession and create opportunities, but finishing those chances has not always been consistent.
Rodri admitted that improving their effectiveness in front of goal will be crucial if they want to overcome Real Madrid in the decisive second leg.
“Absolutely. We have to be more clinical and take a step forward in that regard, yes. I think we have the rest: the play, the ability to create.

“It’s true that we couldn’t do it the other day, but we have to lift the team up, because we have an important match on Tuesday. Above all, the team has to believe.”
City lost the first leg 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu, which means they will need a strong performance at home to keep their Champions League hopes alive.
Rodri acknowledged that the team must analyse the mistakes made in Madrid.
“A lot of things, but the Champions League is a two-legged tie. The second leg is still to come.
“We need to analyse what we did wrong, make adjustments, and, above all, put the ball in the net.”
The Spanish midfielder further admitted the challenge will not be easy, but insisted that City are determined to fight until the very end.
“Well, we’re still in the running for everything. They have to come to our home, and we have one fewer game played, so… I’ve seen worse in football.
“I won’t deny that it’s difficult, but we’re going to be in it until the end. That’s the team’s mindset,” he added.
