A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga outfit Elche has emerged as a leading transfer target for a host of high-profile clubs across Spain and beyond.

This comes amid the understanding that David Affengruber’s performances have begun to attract widespread interest.

Stopper Affengruber has for his part played a prominent role for relegation-battling Elche across the season to date.

From his berth at the heart of the heart of the Franjiverdes’ backline, the Austrian international has continued to impress onlookers, en route to 32 La Liga appearances.

Affengruber has been hailed for his efforts on both sides of the ball, from his passing to reading of the game and aerial ability.

And such exploits look increasingly likely to give rise to a summer move away from Elche for the 25-year-old.

As per a report from market insider Florian Plettenberg of Sky:

‘David Affengruber is planning a move in the summer. Options include the Bundesliga, Italy and Spain. Scouted by Juventus, Milan, Atletico, Sevilla and Manchester United.’
