Manchester City are unhappy after Premier League rescheduling left them facing three matches in seven days during a tight title run-in.
According to NY Times, the Premier League on Tuesday confirmed City will host Crystal Palace on Wednesday, 13 May at 8pm BST and visit Bournemouth on Tuesday, 19 May at 7.30pm, either side of the FA Cup final against Chelsea on Sunday, 16 May.
Two of City’s remaining five league games were moved after Pep Guardiola’s side reached both domestic cup finals. Bournemouth had been due on the FA Cup final weekend, and Palace was originally set for 21-22 March.
Palace’s Conference League semi-final against Shakhtar Donetsk next month ruled out the week starting 4 May. UEFA sought to avoid a clash with the Europa League final on Wednesday, 20 May.
City are three points behind leaders Arsenal with a game in hand and play after them this weekend. They are aggrieved by the squeeze, say they offered alternatives and believe the league had ample time to sort it.
City argue the earliest-possible rescheduling was not applied for Palace. They proposed Bournemouth on 12 May and Palace a week later, and later suggested Bournemouth on Thursday, 21 May to aid recovery, but both were rejected.
For Palace, City explored last week, this week and next, but West Ham on Monday and European duties blocked those windows.
