In a recent report, journalist Mark Brus mentioned that Manchester United are among the clubs hoping to land Red Bull Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko. It is understood that the Red Devils are eyeing a move to bring the Slovenian talent to Old Trafford this summer.

Sesko’s Impressive Rise In German Football

Sesko enjoyed a fruitful campaign at the German club after he put in a handful of promising performances for them in the final third. The Slovenia international banged in 21 goals and secured six assists in 45 appearances for RB Leipzig last season across all fronts.

The 22-year-old proved his worth in the opposition half by averaging 2.5 shots per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He kept 43.9% of his attempts on target. However, Sesko needs to improve his ball distribution based on his pass success rate of 67.6% in the German first division (stats via fbref.com).

Sesko is under contract at RB Leipzig until the summer of 2029 which could make it difficult for the Red Devils to sign him on the cheap.

Is Sesko A Decent Fit For Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim?

Sesko excels at finding some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He proved himself to be a capable finisher in the final third last season.

The Slovenia international can even orchestrate a few inviting chances for others around him in the opposition half. He is also quite clever with his movements up top. Standing at 1.95m, Sesko can even use his strong frame to win his fair share of aerial duels. However, he would need some time to settle into the high intensity of the Premier League.

Sesko would add more firepower to Man United boss Ruben Amorim’s attack. He is more than capable of earning a regular first-team spot at Old Trafford next season. Furthermore, the Slovenian talent would serve as an upgrade over Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee at the Mancunian club.

At 22, Sesko has got the ceiling to be a success story at Old Trafford in the long run. Therefore, he would be a great fit for Man United’s needs this summer. Sesko might even help the Red Devils push for a European spot in the Premier League over the next few years. All in all, Amorim should consider snapping him up this off-season.
