In a recent segment on The United Stand YouTube channel, journalist Ben Jacobs stated that Manchester United are big admirers of FC Porto keeper Diogo Costa. It is understood that the Red Devils are showing interest in bringing the Portuguese talent to Old Trafford in this summer transfer window.
Costa had a solid campaign at Porto recently as he put in a lot of impressive displays for them in Liga Portugal. The Portuguese goalie featured in 43 matches for his current employers last season, conceding 45 goals and keeping 19 clean sheets in all competitions.
The 25-year-old proved himself to be one of the most consistent goalkeepers in Portuguese football last season. However, only time will tell whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if Man United manage to bring him on board this off-season.
Costa is under contract at Porto until the summer of 2027 which could make it tough for the Red Devils to land him on the cheap in this transfer period.

Costa has proven himself to be a safe pair of hands in between the sticks for Porto over the past few years. He can use his quick reflexes to make some important saves for his team and is a good handler of the ball as well.
The Brazilian keeper doesn’t mind clearing his lines when in danger of being caught out at the back. He is a tidy passer of the ball as well.
We can expect Costa to enhance the quality of Man United boss Ruben Amorim’s goalkeeping department. He has what it takes to secure a regular first-team spot at Old Trafford next season. The Portuguese sensation might even help the Mancunian club get back to challenging for a European spot in the Premier League.
Costa will be an upgrade over Andre Onana, who was prone to making high-profile errors at Man United last season. With all things considered, the Red Devils should focus on trying everything they can to snap him up this summer. However, Amorim has to give Costa some time to adjust to the physicality and high intensity of the Premier League.
