Manchester United are interested in signing former Liverpool star Neco Williams, per BBC Sport.
Williams rose through the Reds’ youth ranks to make 33 senior appearances before joining Nottingham Forest in 2022.
He has remained a crucial first-team member since, featuring in 160 games and scoring four goals.
The Tricky Trees endured a turbulent 2025-26 season, as they sacked three managers and finished 16th in the Premier League table.
But the 25-year-old continued his impressive form, making 53 appearances across all competitions and recording six direct goal contributions.
Williams’ performances have caught the eye of United, who could make a move before the end of the summer transfer window.
They face competition from Newcastle United who have also registered an interest.
Although midfield remains the biggest area for improvement, Man Utd are also in the market for a new left-back due to Luke Shaw’s persistent injury issues.
They have identified Lewis Hall as their primary target, but Newcastle are reluctant to sell their prized asset this summer.
Securing a deal for Williams is not expected to be easy as well.
Forest are keen to keep the 25-year-old at the City Ground. He has three years left on his contract, and the club are looking to tie him down to an improved deal.
