Manchester United are keeping a close eye on the situation surrounding Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni ahead of what could become a dramatic summer transfer window.
According to journalist Tyrone Marshall, the Premier League side is prepared to make a serious attempt to convince the French midfielder to move to Old Trafford if Real Madrid become open to selling him.
It has been suggested that the Red Devils are expected to prioritise midfield reinforcements this summer after confirming qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
With Casemiro set to leave at the end of the season, Manchester United are already preparing for a major reshuffle in midfield.
The report claims the English club want to sign at least two midfielders this summer, while a third addition could also become necessary if Manuel Ugarte departs.
In that context, Tchouameni has emerged as one of the names admired internally at Old Trafford.
United reportedly believe the French international has the physical qualities, experience and level required to strengthen the squad immediately ahead of their return to Champions League football.

Notably, the timing of the interest comes during a difficult moment for Tchouameni at Real Madrid.
The midfielder has recently found himself involved in a major dressing room controversy following his falling out with Federico Valverde.
The incident became serious enough to affect the squad atmosphere and ultimately contributed to Valverde missing the recent El Clasico defeat against Barcelona.
Despite the recent tension surrounding the midfielder, Real Madrid are not believed to be actively looking to sell him.
Tchouameni remains under contract until 2028 and, until very recently, the club were considering offering him a renewal as part of their long-term plans.
That situation may now be slightly more complicated following the fallout involving Valverde, but internally, there is still said to be no major panic regarding the player’s future.
