Manchester United are interested in signing Lyon winger Afonso Moreira in the summer transfer window, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola.

Man United are expected to strengthen in attack as they prepare for Champions League football at the Old Trafford club.

Moreira has caught the eye of the Red Devils after an individual campaign which ‘has surprised everyone in France’.

The 21-year-old Portuguese attacker has eight goals and 11 assists in 35 games across all competitions, and Man United could do with such a talented forward with huge potential.

Moreira joined Lyon from Sporting CP last summer, and the sporting director of the Ligue 1 club, Paulo Fonseca, has been blown away with his hard work praising him for his ‘lot of energy and intensity’.

Serie A and Bundesliga clubs have also expressed an interest in the Portuguese winger, but a move to Man United could be more appealing.

The youngster has been tipped to break into the Portugal senior national team sooner rather than later, and joining the Red Devils and impressing in the Premier League could fast-track his international progress.

His crossing, passing and frequent defensive contributions have attracted suitors to him, and a big summer could be on the cards for him.

Man United are desperate to impress across all competitions next season and win silverware, and they will need better wingers and finishers than Amad Diallo.

Moreira fits the bill and luring him to the Theatre of Dreams could be huge for the Red Devils given his talent.

He has the potential to become one of the best in his position in Europe after hitting the ground running in his debut season in France.
