Mancini says Man City charges ‘not my concern’ | OneFootball

Roberto Mancini has distanced himself from reports that Manchester City have been found guilty of the majority of the Premier League’s financial charges against the club.

The former City boss, now in charge of Italy, insisted the matter had nothing to do with him despite some of the alleged breaches covering the period in which he was manager at the Etihad.

City were charged by the Premier League with 115 alleged breaches of its financial rules, including claims that the club failed to provide full details of manager remuneration between 2009 and 2013.

Mancini was in charge throughout that period and led City to their first league title in 44 years in 2012.

“It’s not an issue that concerns me,” Mancini said, however.

“It’s nothing new because this matter has been discussed for the last four or five years.

“Manchester City has not been found guilty, and the alleged double contract is not my concern. It’s their issue, not mine.”

Manchester City continue to deny any wrongdoing and chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak insists he is still confident of the club proving their innocence.

“The Premier League process still has a long way to run, and our confidence and intent in proving the Club’s innocence is just as strong as when this began,” he said.
