Addicks supporters were left content with their side's draw at Pride Park
Charlton Athletic supporters have been left extremely pleased by their side's recent performances, and such feelings continued in midweek as the London club earned a draw away to Derby County at Pride Park.
Despite many tipping Nathan Jones' side for a season of struggle after returning to the Championship via the League One play-offs at the back end of last season, the Welshman's outfit have proven to be no pushovers whatsoever in the opening weeks of the campaign.
The Addicks came into their East Midlands venture off the back of a 3-0 home success against Blackburn Rovers, which followed up a win and a draw against Sheffield United - in Chris Wilder's third Bramall Lane homecoming, no less - and South London rivals Millwall respectively.
As a result, Charlton are currently the best-performing side out of the three which were promoted from the third tier last term, with both Birmingham City and Wrexham enduring tumultuous runs of form whilst pressure is somewhat starting to build on both Chris Davies and Phil Parkinson.
Meanwhile, Jones will have taken plenty of positives as his side made it four matches unbeaten as we edge closer towards the second international break of the season, with the Reds looking to potentially go five without defeat against high-flying Preston North End at Deepdale on Saturday afternoon.
Yet despite the fact their side were pegged back on the scoreboard with 11 minutes to go as Matt Clarke headed home a Lewis Travis cross to cancel out James Bree's fizzing effort nine minutes before half-time, those who travelled up the M1 headed back to the capital in a satisfied and optimistic mood.
As previously mentioned, Charlton have given their supporters plenty of reasons to be pleased with their start to the season, especially when taking into account some of the sides they have taken their 12 points from.
Derby may be languishing in 20th place as we enter October, but many had tipped the Rams to make steady progress in John Eustace's first full season in charge in DE24 after a flurry of incomings, particularly in the attacking department such as Carlton Morris, Ben Brereton Diaz and Patrick Agyemang.
There was also plenty of activity at The Valley this summer, but the Addicks' current standing of eighth after as many games is a testament to how defensively resolute Jones' outfit have been in particular, with a concession of six goals only bettered by the top two of Middlesbrough and Stoke City.
Therefore, there weren't many negative outlooks on what could be another important point for the Londoners from supporters on social media.
One Charlton fan was of such an opinion, whilst admitting that the game did swing in Derby's favour once the impressive duo of Bree and Sonny Carey were taken off in the second period.
Another supporter clearly believes Charlton's start to the season has gone under-the-radar whilst clubs who were expected to make fast starts are languishing in the lower reaches of the table.
In response to the above tweet, one fan stated that the club's progress was epitomised by how disappointing it was to have not taken three points for the third successive game.
Plenty of other supporters were in agreement, with another still embracing the quality shown in Bree's goal way after the full-time whistle.
Despite the realism shown by many, one supporter in the away end believed that supporters should be looking upwards at what could be achieved against all odds if Charlton's strong form continues.
As is so often the case with newly-promoted sides, Jones has made his side extremely tough to break down, with summer signing Thomas Kaminski already keeping four clean sheets since joining from Luton Town.
Those in front of him have also gained mass plaudits for the way they have stood strong against multiple of the division's most potent forward players, although the Charlton boss will be hoping that such defensive sturdiness can be complemented by a greater attacking output.
The Reds have averaged one goal per game thus far, although only one of them has come through a recognised centre-forward in Isaac 'Tanto' Olaofe's dramatic winner against Sheffield United, with marquee summer signing Charlie Kelman yet to get off the mar after joining from QPR following a stunning season on loan in League One with Leyton Orient.
