Marco Silva opts for Benfica after Al Nassr pursuit | OneFootball

According to Glorioso 1904, Marco Silva was close to joining Al Nassr but instead chose Benfica, despite a lucrative overseas offer.

Former Al Nassr legal director Saad Al-Subaie said Silva had been their leading candidate to replace Jorge Jesus before making a late decision on his future.

Benfica moved for Silva following José Mourinho’s departure.

Once the opportunity arose, the coach was receptive to the project outlined by Rui Costa.

Al-Subaie added that Al Nassr have now narrowed their alternatives to two managers, one leading his team at the World Cup and another working in South America.
