Matheus Nascimento registered with CBF and could make Grêmio debut | OneFootball

Matheus Nascimento has been registered with the CBF and appeared on the BID on Monday, meaning he can make his official Grêmio debut, Globo.com reports.

Until now he had only featured in the friendly win over Cruzeiro at Mané Garrincha, where he scored from the spot.

Grêmio’s legal department is working to register Matheus Nascimento and other players for the Copa Sudamericana. The team face Bolívar in Bolivia on Thursday at 19:00 in the play-offs.

He could strengthen a position depleted by the suspension of Carlos Vinicius, with Braithwaite the alternative. Conmebol’s disciplinary tribunal imposed a two-match ban after Carlos Vinicius was sent off for dissent in stoppage time of the draw with City Torque at the Arena.

Conmebol permits up to five new registrations at this stage. Alongside Matheus Nascimento, Grêmio have submitted Wallace, and the centre-back is already listed with the confederation. Right-back Diego Caito, not yet announced, could also be added if his paperwork is completed in time.
