Stade Brestois said in a statement that Mathieu Patouillet, 22, has joined on a three-year contract as a free agent after leaving Al-Hilal. He will act as back-up to Egil Selvik.
The former Lyon and Sochaux goalkeeper arrives a few days after Grégoire Coudert moved to Burnley. He will wear number 30.
He joined Al-Hilal in summer 2025 on a two-year deal and featured in only two matches. He was third choice behind Yassine Bounou and Saudi international Mohammed Al-Yami.
A product of Olympique Lyonnais, he did not make a senior appearance there. The 1.88 m keeper spent two seasons on loan at Sochaux in National, playing 55 matches.
Brest, coached by Julien Lachuer, have also brought in Romain Cagnon this summer. Nineteen-year-old Noé Poillion will be the fourth goalkeeper for the Pirates.
