Aston Villa have been boosted by Matty Cash’s impending return for Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Leeds United. The right back missed the FA Cup tie at Newcastle and the league win over Brighton with a minor knee issue.

"Matty Cash is coming back. He trained the last two training sessions good and he is feeling good. He is coming back," Unai Emery said, as reported by Birmingham Live.

"The other players who were injured are still injured - Kamara, Tielemans, McGinn and Alysson. (Harvey) Elliott is not available for tomorrow."

Lamare Bogarde covered at full back in Cash’s absence, and the Poland international could now reclaim his place in the XI. Villa are chasing back-to-back home league wins after beating Brighton earlier this month.

Villa are unbeaten in their previous six Premier League meetings with Leeds, and are seeking only their second top flight double over them, the first came in 1999-2000.

Since early December, only Manchester City and Manchester United have lost fewer Premier League games than Leeds, who also have the most draws in that spell.

Away from home they have won just one of their last 18 league matches, a 3-1 success at Wolverhampton Wanderers in September. They are winless in 10 on the road, five of the previous six have been draws, including a recovery from 2-0 down to draw at Chelsea under Daniel Farke last time out.
