Real Madrid welcomed Olympique Marseille at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium earlier tonight as they focused on securing a win at home in the UEFA Champions League. Los Blancos made a slow start to the game as they conceded the opening goal in the 22nd minute when Timothy Weah scored for the visitors. However, Kylian Mbappe equalised from the penalty spot just six minutes later as the two teams went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.

Dani Carvajal was sent off by the referee in the 72nd minute. However, the ten men of Real Madrid managed to grab the lead in the 81st minute when Mbappe scored again from the penalty spot. The contest finished with Xabi Alonso’s side earning a hard-fought 2-1 victory at the Bernabeu.
