Memphis agrees Corinthians extension to 2028 and eager to return | OneFootball

Memphis Depay has signed a new Corinthians contract running to 31 July 2028, expressing delight with the agreement and a desire to get back to work.

According to Globo.com, the protracted talks were even halted by an official note on 11 August, after which supporters mobilised on social media to press for a deal.

The Dutch forward spoke of many emotions, thanked everyone involved and described Corinthians as a giant. He also praised the fans’ extraordinary backing and pledged to give everything to achieve big things together.

Corinthians have registered his contract in the CBF’s Boletim Informativo Diário so he can return to action. He is expected to be available to Fernando Diniz for the second leg of the Conmebol Libertadores round of 16 against Rosario Central at Neo Química Arena on Thursday at 21:30 Brasília time.

Memphis joined Corinthians in September 2024. He has made 79 appearances, scoring 20 goals, and helped win the Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil in 2025 and the Supercopa Rei this year.
