Memphis compares Corinthians to European giants and hails Fiel | OneFootball

"In terms of impact and stature, Corinthians compares with Barcelona and Manchester United. In terms of supporters, there is no comparison. I have played in big stadiums with more than 100,000 people. I have never seen what I see here every week at Neo Química Arena," Memphis Depay told Romário TV.

In March 2025, he had already drawn similar parallels with Europe, name-checking Camp Nou and Old Trafford.

Despite ups and downs with sections of the support, Memphis has been a key figure since arriving at Parque São Jorge in September 2024, helping to spark Corinthians’ recovery in that year’s Brasileirão.

He then stood out during the 2025 campaigns in the Campeonato Paulista and the Copa do Brasil, both of which were won by Timão.

Memphis’s contract runs until 30 June this year, and there have not yet been talks over a possible extension. Any negotiation is expected only after the 2026 World Cup.
