Memphis Depay scored against Santos, completing his run of goals against Corinthians’ three biggest rivals, Santos, São Paulo and Palmeiras.

The first of the trio came on 30 July last year, when the Dutchman struck the only goal in the Copa do Brasil round of 16 first leg against Palmeiras at Neo Química Arena. He rose to meet Matheuzinho’s cross on 34 minutes of the second half.

Next came São Paulo in the Brasileirão on 20 November, a 3-1 home win at the Casa do Povo. On 39 minutes of the second half, Depay pounced on a poor clearance, nutmegged centre-back Sabino and drilled in to put Corinthians ahead.

The sequence was completed against Santos on Sunday. Released by Kaio César on 18 minutes of the first half, he cut on to his right foot and blasted in. It was the first time the No 10 scored in a derby without Corinthians winning, as the match finished 1-1.

Depay also has four assists in derbies, two against Palmeiras and two against Santos. The goal ended a near three-month drought, his previous strike came on 21 December when he secured the 2025 Copa do Brasil title against Vasco da Gama.

Corinthians now turn to Thursday’s Brasileirão trip to Chapecoense, with kick-off at 21:30 at Arena Condá.
