Memphis Depay has reported for Netherlands duty in Zeist as their World Cup build-up begins.
According to Meu Timao, the Netherlands' official account, in collaboration with Corinthians, announced his arrival at the KNVB training centre. The post said the Corinthians No 10 had joined up with the national team.
Depay was released by Corinthians after the 2-0 defeat to Argentina's Platense in the Copa Libertadores last Wednesday. He landed in the Netherlands at the weekend, linked up on Saturday, then took part in his first session on Sunday.
Corinthians will receive $11,000 per day from FIFA while Depay is at the World Cup, about R$55.7 thousand. The group stage already guarantees $132,000, roughly R$670 thousand. If the Netherlands reach the final, the total could rise to $396,000, surpassing R$2 million.
The Netherlands are in Group F and open against Japan on 14 June at 17:00 Brasília time at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. They then face Sweden on 20 June at 14:00 at NRG Stadium in Houston. They finish against Tunisia on 25 June at 20:00 at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, with all matches in the United States.
Before the tournament, the Dutch will play two warm-ups. They face Algeria on 3 June in Rotterdam, then Uzbekistan on 8 June in New York.
