According to L'Équipe, a new documentary, «Michael Olise, meneur tout-puissant», charts the France playmaker’s uneven path, from being released by Chelsea’s academy at 15 after six years to the mentality that setback forged.
Saïd Aïgoun, Crystal Palace’s former assistant under Patrick Vieira from 2021 to 2023, says the toughest task was getting Olise to stop training, and that Vieira sometimes had to send him back to the dressing room.
Aïgoun recalls Olise grabbing equipment to run his own targeted sessions, working on specific finishing patterns, drawing a defender then shooting at the near or far post to refine his striking action.
Jamal Musiala, his Bayern team-mate, describes Olise as among the hardest-working players he knows, saying he treats his profession with real seriousness and that he admires his mindset.
That relentlessness is tied to a non-linear journey. Aïgoun frames the blow as the hardest a youngster can suffer, adding that rebuilding from behind square one marks out a top talent, and that such attitude can take you to the top. The film also breaks down his spectacular style, presenting a unique profile seen as a linchpin of France’s attack for the World Cup.
