Michele Kang has launched a new chapter at Olympique Lyonnais with an open letter to supporters, outlining the direction for the club under her ownership. According to Le Progres, the American formally took ownership at the end of June.

The message arrived on Wednesday, a few days after the 26 June completion of the deal, closing the purchase of Eagle Football’s shares. It marked the formal start of her project at the Décines-based club.

Kang addressed the recent period of uncertainty and thanked regulars at Groupama Stadium for their unwavering support and remarkable resilience.

She added that backing from the stands helped save OL not once but twice in under a year, a nod to administrative obstacles, decisive DNCG hearings and the complex ownership transition.

On the pitch, the objective is clear, to rebuild the club and restore its place among Europe’s elite, in service of the local community and French football.

To move past this difficult spell, Kang plans to embed a culture of high performance, unity, excellence and accountability. With the leadership structure now stabilised, OL can push ahead with preparations for next season.
