Milan could rekindle their interest in Armand Laurienté, whom they already pursued in the past, as they are set to zhuzh up their deputies in the summer. In particular, Samuel Chukwueze is on his way out after another subpar season where he didn’t earn a regular role, Mediaset reports (via Europa Calcio).
The Rossoneri will most likely keep Rafael Leao but will need another speedster to round out their frontline. Sassuolo managed to convince the star to stay despite the relegation last summer. He was targeted in particular by Turkish clubs.
Laurienté proceeded to lead the Neroverdi to the promotion, scoring 17 goals and 6 assists, attracting the interest of Milan and multiple Serie A teams. His side has been reluctant to negotiate his sale in past years, though.
The 26-year-old is under contract until 2027, so Sassuolo don’t necessarily have to sell. He moved to Italy from Lorient for €10M in 2022. He had a respectable level of success in the top flight too, registering 12 goals and 12 assists in 65 matches-
The right window to get him was last year’s one. It’s impressive that the Neroverdi kept hold of him. He’s been predictably tremendous against weaker competition. The Rossoneri will need another winger, but, even though they have occasionally tried, it’s evident that, as long as they are with them, nobody is going to unseat Leao and Christian Pulisic. He doesn’t seem the type of player who would be great in a limited role. He’d probably be a tad pricey for that too.
