Milan's sudden slide has blown open Serie A's race for the Champions League places, with Atalanta losing ground.

Football Italia notes that midway through Week 32 the run-in already looks set for a tense finish. For much of the campaign Inter, Milan and Napoli were seen as title rivals, with Juventus, Como, Roma and Atalanta vying for fourth.

Back-to-back defeats have dropped the Rossoneri out of the top two for the first time since Week 11, heightening anxiety.

Juventus won 1-0 away at Atalanta, leaving La Dea at least seven points adrift of fourth. Roma beat Pisa 3-0. Regardless of how Como fare against Inter on Sunday, only six points separate Milan in third from Roma in sixth.

If Como defeat the leaders, Max Allegri would have Cesc Fabregas just two points behind and Luciano Spalletti within three. The fixture list adds jeopardy with direct clashes ahead.

Roma vs Atalanta in Week 33, Milan vs Juventus in Week 34, Como vs Napoli in Week 35 and Milan vs Atalanta in Week 36 remain to come.
