The first team and the U21s trained side by side on Thursday as seven youngsters got the chance to impress as the players worked on fundamentals before the fixture list dictates things again.
After four days off, Eintracht Frankfurt returned to training on Wednesday. On Friday, they play a friendly against Bundesliga 2 side Eintracht Braunschweig (kick-off 15:30 CEST).
With 13 players away on international duty, academy talents Cherif Cisse (19), Julian Etse (20), Collin Owusu Etse (21), Christian Prenaj (18), Lawrence Setordjie (18), Paul Wünsch (21) and 17-year-old U19 goalkeeper Laurin Müller joined in with training.Head coach Adi Hütter demanded high intensity, quick and precise passing as well as commitment in the duels.
Meanwhile, Jeremiaha Maluze and Jessic Ngankam continued their fitness programme under the guidance of rehab coach Lucas Trittel. “During the international break, it’s easier to attend to individual players,” said assistant coach Christian Peintinger. “You don’t need to do any match preparation for the weekend. That means you have more time with the players and more time to work with them. You can do intensive physical work without having to consider an upcoming match.”
That time will soon become scarce again. Including the friendly against Braunschweig on Friday 2 October, the Eagles have six fixtures between now and 1 November.
