Nottingham Forest face injury concerns before a key Premier League meeting with Newcastle United, and Vitor Pereira is unsure whether Morgan Gibbs-White will feature again this season. According to Nottingham Post, the head coach said he does not know if the playmaker will be involved again this term.

Gibbs-White sustained a facial wound in Monday’s 3-1 win over Chelsea. He was listed among the substitutes for Thursday’s Europa League last-four second leg at Aston Villa, but was never likely to play.

He completed only part of the warm-up at Villa Park while wearing a protective mask, then watched as Forest lost 4-0 and exited the competition.

There are further issues for Pereira. Ibrahim Sangare and Dan Ndoye were unused in midweek, Ola Aina was absent, and Callum Hudson-Odoi’s season ended last month.

Murillo appeared late on but was not fully fit, and he indicated he had felt his hamstring again. The manager said he does not know about Gibbs-White or Aina, Hudson-Odoi is finished for the season, and he thinks Ndoye maybe can return, with assessments due today.

Forest approach Sunday’s 2pm kick-off at the City Ground with survival close but not yet secure. Pereira said the group needs to reset mentally, compete at home with their supporters and try to take points to finish the Premier League situation.
