On Monday, the Movimento Expulsão Já will file a request with Corinthians’ Deliberative Council seeking the expulsion of former president Andrés Sanchez and the removal of his lifetime role, backed by more than 50,000 signatures, including about 1,000 from club members.

According to Meu Timao, the initiative stems from Projeto Time do Povo, linked to the Democracia Corinthiana collective of supporters and members at Parque São Jorge. The group aims to challenge impunity by pointing to irregularities by recent club leaders and is also seeking clarification on cases involving former presidents Duílio Monteiro Alves and Augusto Melo.

The drive began after São Paulo’s Public Prosecutor filed a complaint against Andrés. The movement outlined actions it says harmed Corinthians’ assets, and the investigation alleges he used the club’s corporate card for personal expenses during his tenure.

The group also wants the expulsion vote to be open and roll-call. It argues secrecy should not shield private interests given the gravity of the claims.

In recent weeks, Corinthians’ Ethics Committee unanimously approved a report recommending the former president’s expulsion.

Signatories include club figures such as Chico Malfitani, founder of Gaviões da Fiel, and Sócrates Júnior, son of the idol Sócrates. The movement has supporters in eight Brazilian states and in seven other countries.
